Ecotricity against fracking
Fracking is the most unpopular form of energy ever – and we’re doing everything we can to stop it.
Working with the British Journal of Photography, we’ve commissioned photographer Rhiannon Adam to capture the reality of the fight against fracking on the frontline.
You can see photos and read more about the campaign, entitled Fractured Stories, here.
For a long time, our green gas has come with a frack-free promise, and we’ve provided help to anti-fracking groups too - but we’re taking direct action.
We’ve set up the People Power Fund to support the activists fighting fracking on the front line. That means every penny in the fund will go directly to anti-fracking groups in Britain.
And for every person who switches their energy supply to Ecotricity using our People Power code, we’ll make a £60 donation directly into the fund.
What we're doing is unique in the energy industry. In fact, four of the Big Six energy companies are either investing in or supporting fracking in Britain - which means that 6 out of 10 people are funding fracking simply by paying their energy bills.
Fracking is a dirty business, and by stopping it now, Britain can choose a greener form of gas made from a simple, renewable source – grass.
