Why should my friend switch to Ecotricity?

1. No greenwashing

Our energy is the greenest you can get. Since 1995, we've been continuously building new sources of green energy using renewable resources like the wind, the sun and the grass to make Britain greener.

2. We'll turn their Bills into Mills.

What makes Ecotricity different from other energy companies is that we take the money we make from our customers' bills and use it to build new forms of green energy ourselves.

3. We generate vegan electricity.

Ecotricity is the only energy company in the world certified as vegan by both The Vegan Society and Viva!, the vegan charity.

4. Which? Recommended Provider.

Ecotricity is one of the greenest energy suppliers in the UK and has recently named as Which? Recommended Provider for Energy Companies 2024. We've also received the Which? Eco Provider endorsement for the last three years in a row, plus been recommended as one of Ethical Consumer magazine's ‘Best Buys’.

Climate Clock

The Climate Clock is a version of the Doomsday clock that has been running since 1947 - this tracks the risk of global man-made disaster, through man made technology (like nuclear weapons) - displaying the minutes and seconds left before midnight, when disaster strikes. The climate crisis is a small part of the calculations made.
The climate clock uses a similar approach, but, focuses only on the climate crisis - which is the biggest and most urgent existential threat we face.
"The Climate Clock is a countdown to the biggest man-made disaster we face - but also a measure by which we can track our progress - moving from fossil to renewable energy. It shows we have no time to lose - the clock is ticking…" Dale Vince, OBE.
