Generate your own green energy on site

While other green energy companies buy their supply from third party generators, at Ecotricity build our own wind and sun parks all over Britain. We’re able to share that expertise with our customers through our range of made-to-measure business services.

As one of our business customers, we can help you add windmills and/or solar arrays to your facilities and start generating your own green energy.

We’ll help you every step along the way, it will save you money, and it’s an excellent way of showing the world that your business is committed to sustainability.

On-site wind energy

For over a decade, we’ve been building windmills on industrial and commercial sites for our customers. Thanks to Ecotricity, wind is powering some of the UK’s biggest companies.

The environmental advantage is that the energy is 100% sustainable. But on-site wind makes sense economically too – it’s cheaper than brown energy from a major supplier.

From offering our expertise in planning through to building, maintaining and owning the turbines at your site, we’ll work flexibly with you in a way that suits your needs. Meanwhile your business will get to enjoy clean, green energy with a stunning environmental signpost.

Solar power

In addition to windmills, we are experts when it comes to solar energy and have installed thousands of panels at our own facilities and for our clients. If you want to add solar PV to your site, we can help you choose, install and maintain the best system for your needs.

Power purchase agreements

If you are generating over 250kW of green energy on site, we can arrange a power purchase agreement (PPA) and can help you get the best price for your energy. We have variable and fixed price options, and work through all the established accreditation and subsidy schemes.

Office block and wind turbine at Green Park in Reading
Green Park – the eco office complex off the M4 in Reading – is powered by an Ecotricity windmill, signposting the eco credentials of the firms based there.
We have this fantastic state-of-the-art wind turbine on our site, which not only looks great but is providing almost half the depot's electricity, with no carbon emissions and at a cheaper price.

Climate Clock

The Climate Clock is a version of the Doomsday clock that has been running since 1947 - this tracks the risk of global man-made disaster, through man made technology (like nuclear weapons) - displaying the minutes and seconds left before midnight, when disaster strikes. The climate crisis is a small part of the calculations made.
The climate clock uses a similar approach, but, focuses only on the climate crisis - which is the biggest and most urgent existential threat we face.
"The Climate Clock is a countdown to the biggest man-made disaster we face - but also a measure by which we can track our progress - moving from fossil to renewable energy. It shows we have no time to lose - the clock is ticking…" Dale Vince, OBE.
