We’re so excited to reveal what we’ve been working on over the last few months!
This April, for the first time in Ecotricity history, we’re launching a television campaign.
This is a new venture for us and yes, a bit of a test. We’re targeting a small, specific audience in London to reach a whole new group of people who might not have heard of Ecotricity or our work.
In the same way that our Green Britain partnership with the Express newspaper is helping us get our message to huge numbers of new people, we’re hoping our TV campaign will bring us new customers who will go on to tell their friends and family all about our work.
We haven’t run TV campaigns before because we’re obsessively careful with the money we spend on marketing – we want to invest as much of our customers’ bill money as possible in building new sources of green energy.
But the more people who join us, the more we can do. So please take a moment to watch our founder, Dale Vince, explain why Ecotricity is the only choice for truly green energy.

As an Ecotricity customer, you’re not just paying an energy bill – you’re investing in our future.
We were Britain’s first green energy company, founded 25 years ago. We built our first windmill in 1995 in Stroud, the place we’re still proud to call home. Our headquarters are here and so are our brilliant call centre staff, dedicated to helping our customers.
Over the past quarter century, we’ve used 100% of our profits to build 74 windmills and a solar park, creating clean electricity from the wind and the sun – turning ‘bills into mills’.
The work goes on. We’re building two new solar parks, utilising bifacial solar technology to harvest even more solar energy. And we’ve just signed a pioneering agreement to bring geothermal energy to the national grid for the very first time in the UK.

What makes us different is that we use the profits from our customers' bills to build new forms of green energy ourselves.
2. Truly green energy
Our electricity is 100% green – made from the sun and the wind. It’s also certified vegan. Our gas is a mix of carbon-neutralised natural gas and sustainable green gas. And, you can be absolutely certain that the energy we supply will never be greenwashed.
3. Our ethical pricing policy
We only offer one simple price for electricity and one for gas so every customer gets our best available price – guaranteed. There are no contracts or restrictive exit fees tying you in so you’re free to leave whenever you like – we think this is the true acid test for customer service.
