5 ways the new Ecotricity app will make your life easier

The new Ecotricity app will make your life easier

Have you tried our Ecotricity app yet? It’s by far the easiest way to submit meter readings, manage your account and even make payments. It’s free and you can download it now from the App Store or Google Play.

Getting started with the app only takes a few seconds: just use the same email and password as for your online account. If you haven’t created an account yet, you’ll need your customer account number – you can find this on your bills we’ve sent you.

Once you’ve got the app on your phone, brace yourself –  things are about to get a whole lot easier…

1. Submit meter readings like a pro

The Ecotricity app allows you to submit meter readings easily

Sending us a meter reading is as simple as entering the number and hitting the ‘Submit Reading’ button. Every month, we’ll ping you a reminder to send us a reading – this way, we can make sure your bills are accurate and you only pay for the energy you use, instead of estimates.

There’s even a handy torch button you can use if your meter is in a dark place and difficult to see!

2. Make payments in seconds

The new Ecotricity app means you make payments in seconds

Paying your balance is as easy as ABC. You can use a card (you only need to enter the details once) or even Apple Pay / Google Pay if you prefer.

If you’re a Smart Pay As You Go customer, you can top up your smart meter straight from your phone.

Of course, the easiest way to pay is by Direct Debit, so we’ve also included a guide to setting one up – meaning you never have to worry about remembering to send us a payment ever again!

3. See your latest bills and account activity

The Ecotricity app allows you to see latest bills and account activity

All the information you need at your fingertips. Just tap to view your latest bills and a full record of what’s happened on your account.

You can easily filter the list by when you submitted meter readings as well as by recent payments and transactions.

4. Grab some fantastic freebies

The Ecotricity app gives you a unique referral code

Inside the app you’ll find your unique referral code – share it with friends, family, colleagues, neighbours and the milkman and when they switch to Ecotricity we’ll give you both a reward.

By referring a friend through the app, you and your friends can get vouchers to spend with Ethical Superstore. And depending on our campaigns, our refer a friend offers sometimes change… you could get John Lewis vouchers or even credit to your account!

5. Find help and support

Help is always at hand with our comprehensive list of frequently asked questions, as well as help guides on things like how to read your meter.
