We work with many likeminded organisations who back our vision of a greener Britain – one of our longest standing relationships is with the excellent RSPB, who we’ve collaborated with since 2012.
In 2016 we installed a beautiful windmill at The Lodge, their HQ in Bedfordshire – as they committed to reducing their carbon footprint. Two years later, the windmill is generating almost half of the electricity the charity uses across its 127 locations.
Thousands of RSPB members are also Ecotricity customers - and we make a donation to the charity several times a year just because they switched to us!
Throughout February, we’re going to celebrate the RSPB’s work on our website – as well as our Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts. We’ll be telling people about all the amazing things we do together and telling everybody about the RSPB’s mission to give nature a home.
Forest Green Rovers, the greenest football club in the world and the only vegan club, will also raise funds for the RSPB, with their game against Stevenage on Tuesday 13 February, including entertainment and activities for children. Tickets are available from FGRFC.com.
We’re already out and about spreading the word. Our Principal Ecologist, Simon Pickering, has been visiting schools in the Gloucestershire region, for example, educating children about the wildlife around their homes and the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.
Our Head of Partnerships, Rachel Kent, is ready for a busy month with the RSPB:
“The RSPB’s work fits perfectly with our aims for a greener Britain and we love supporting them. We’ve got some fantastic plans for February and beyond in 2018.”
Switch to us now and we’ll donate up to £60 - helping the RSPB to give a home to nature.
