The Green Britain Centre, Norfolk
When we built this wind turbine in 1999 windmills in the UK stood about 30m tall. This one was more than twice that height. It had three times the capacity of anything before it - the UK’s first megawatt class windmill.
It’s revolutionary viewing platform, designed by Sir Norman Foster, was 67 metres up with 360-degree views of the Norfolk countryside, and was the first of it’s kind in the world. Not for the faint-hearted.
