Live Music Industry Venues & Entertainment (LIVE) is the voice of the UK ’s live music and entertainment business. The industry body’s members includes a federation of 15 live music industry associations, representing over 3,000 businesses, 35,000 artists and 2,000 backstage workers.
We have partnered with LIVE in a joint quest to green up the live music and festival industry – one of the UK’s most vibrant, but energy-intensive cultural sectors.
Through the partnership, we provide expertise and solutions to venues, promoters and festivals in LIVE’s LIVE Green and LIVE venues working groups. Here, we work to champion greener practices, share expertise, and help industry professionals take actionable steps towards sustainability.
A core part of the collaboration is the Live Events Energy Scheme (LEES). This collaboration between Ecotricity, LIVE, the Music Venues Trust (MVT) and A Greener Future (AGF) enables venues, festivals of all sizes to procure green energy collectively and cost-effectively. The scheme functions via an energy basket model where pooled demand grants access to wholesale-level pricing and sustainable energy tariffs – helping eliminate reliance on fossil fuels and cutting carbon emissions.
In partnership with LIVE, we are calling on all promoters, venue operators and festival organisers to join the movement and help build a carbon-free live music industry.
