Future Yard is a vibrant community music venue and creative hub located in the Merseyside town of Birkenhead. Their sustainability roadmap outlines how they will become the first carbon-neutral grassroots venue in the North of England, powered by 100% renewable energy from us.
The community-rooted music venue has made sustainability core to its mission, publishing ambitious carbon strategies, promoting low-impact fan travel for events and powering events sustainably. As their official Sustainability Partner, we are helping accelerate their vision and bringing real-world environmental action to the live-music sector.
This collaboration aligns with our mission to drive green transformation across the creative sector, while bolstering Future Yard’s aim to utilise the power of music to inspire local people and spark positive change in the Merseyside community.
The partnership will see us support events at the venue like POP3 Climate Conference, a full-day event dedicated to exploring the power of music to inspire climate action.
The collaboration aligns with the Live Events Energy Scheme (LEES), our initiative that enables live music venues of all sizes to procure green energy collectively and cost-effectively. The scheme functions via an energy basket model where pooled demand grants access to wholesale-level pricing and sustainable energy tariffs.
