Our mission has always been to change the way energy is made and used, to create a greener Britain. Right now, only 30% or so of the country’s energy is green. And the climate crisis is only getting worse.

Britain has a target of zero net emissions by 2050 at the latest. As a country, we need to be planning and investing in green technology right now in order to have a chance of meeting that target.

What is the Green Fightback?

The Green Fightback is a campaign to make Britain greener by moving more quickly towards 100% green energy, street by street across the entire country. The more people who join us, the more we can do – the more we can invest into new renewable energy sources.

You’ll remember our People Power, Dump the Big 6 and anti-fracking campaigns that raised awareness and support across Britain in the battle against fossil fuels and the climate crisis. Just last year, we declared a climate emergency and joined the climate strikes across the country.

At Ecotricity, we’ve always supported grassroots climate action across Britain. We’ve protested at fracking sites with our partners, Friends of the Earth and hundreds of their local climate action groups, who work tirelessly to improve their local environment.

We’re always working with many Community Interest Groups like, Eastbourne ECO Action Network. The Network engages and unites the interests of the local council, businesses and residents to fight the climate crisis.

Now we’re making a rallying cry for you to get involved…

Green Britain needs YOU!

We need you to join the Green Fightback, spread the word and recruit your friends and neighbours to Ecotricity. As Britain’s greenest energy company, we invest our customers’ bill money in to new sources of green, renewable energy and are dedicated to fighting the climate crisis.

The more people who join us, the more we can do to create a greener Britain. Together, we can make a difference.

Climate Clock

The Climate Clock is a version of the Doomsday clock that has been running since 1947 - this tracks the risk of global man-made disaster, through man made technology (like nuclear weapons) - displaying the minutes and seconds left before midnight, when disaster strikes. The climate crisis is a small part of the calculations made.
The climate clock uses a similar approach, but, focuses only on the climate crisis - which is the biggest and most urgent existential threat we face.
"The Climate Clock is a countdown to the biggest man-made disaster we face - but also a measure by which we can track our progress - moving from fossil to renewable energy. It shows we have no time to lose - the clock is ticking…" Dale Vince, OBE.
