Set up a Direct Debit

Paying by Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your green energy bill. To get your Direct Debit set up, just tick the declaration below and follow the three easy steps.

Have you moved into a property we already supply the energy for? If you haven't signed up to us yet and you're on our out of contract rates, you'll need to do that before being able to sign up to a direct debit. You can sign up here.

If you are applying as a business, please download and complete the Direct Debit Mandate Form as we're unable to process your Direct Debit via the online application.

You'll need to do this for every supply related to your business and return it to us at business@ecotricity.co.uk. For example, if you have two electricity supplies and one gas, you’ll need to return three paper mandates to us, with appropriate signatures on each.

If you need any help or have any questions, call our Business Customer Service Team on 0345 230 6102.

Declaration

Please note:

If you are not the account holder or your account requires more than one signature a paper Direct Debit Instruction will be required to be completed and posted to us. Download a printable Direct Debit Instruction form.

Information

All the normal Direct Debit safeguards and guarantees apply. No changes in the amount, date, frequency to be debited can be made without notifying you at least ten (10) working days in advance of your account being debited. In the event of any error, you are entitled to an immediate refund from your Bank or Building Society. You have the right to cancel a Direct Debit Instruction at any time simply by writing to your Bank or Building Society, with a copy to us.

Climate Clock

The Climate Clock is a version of the Doomsday clock that has been running since 1947 - this tracks the risk of global man-made disaster, through man made technology (like nuclear weapons) - displaying the minutes and seconds left before midnight, when disaster strikes. The climate crisis is a small part of the calculations made.
The climate clock uses a similar approach, but, focuses only on the climate crisis - which is the biggest and most urgent existential threat we face.
"The Climate Clock is a countdown to the biggest man-made disaster we face - but also a measure by which we can track our progress - moving from fossil to renewable energy. It shows we have no time to lose - the clock is ticking…" Dale Vince, OBE.
