Real Time REGOs is our Time-Matched Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) product. That means it allows you to track your energy consumption against renewable generation with greater accuracy and credibility.
What is Real Time REGOs?
Real Time REGOs is an advanced solution that matches energy consumption with renewable generation at a more granular level. This ensures that you can accurately report – internally and externally – your use of green energy, letting you reinforce your environmental credentials with confidence.
How does Real Time REGOs work?
Our Hourly Matched REGOs solution utilises customers' own bundled REGOs within their Sleeved Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). These are combined with Ecotricity’s own PPAs, and unbundled REGOs with Hourly/Half-Hourly metering data to align consumption with generation on an hourly basis.
The level of matching is determined based on available generation data, which is reported on monthly. Official REGO numbers are backfilled when available, ensuring compliance no later than July of the REGO Compliance Reporting Year.
Real Time REGOs means you can now match your energy use to the energy infrastructure we’ve been building throughout our three-decade history and the other renewable assets we source energy from 24 hours a day, year-round - redefining green electricity procurement and ensuring greater transparency.
This latest innovation will also mean that we can continue to support our customers on their net zero journey by helping them attain a higher standard with the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC).
