EcoFlex: How do I know what my system is doing?
You can find useful information in two places within EcoFlex’s Devices tab:
At the top of the Live and Plan screens: A quick summary of what your battery and system are doing right now.
Above the forecast chart on the Plan screen: A more detailed description of planned battery actions for today (including past and forecast). These plans are based on the current forecast so may change to reflect updates.
These summaries update regularly, using the latest available data from your system.
What do the battery modes mean?
The summaries will mention different battery modes. Here’s what they mean:
Dispatching: Your battery is exporting energy to the grid. This typically happens when export prices are high.
Charging: Your battery is charging itself from the grid. This typically happens when import prices are low.
Preserving: Your battery is holding its current level of charge in reserve for later.
Self-consuming: Your battery is in self-consumption mode, its standard operating mode. Your battery is not charging from or discharging to the grid. It will power your home when needed and charge from your home generation system when there’s excess energy.
