The Vegetarian Society

The Vegetarian Society influences, inspires and supports people to embrace and maintain a kinder lifestyle. It’s the generosity of supporters making that vital difference happen – to the lives of vegetarians, animals and our planet.

Bringing communities together

For National Vegetarian Week we invited the nation to get together and share. Our supporters funded some of these celebrations’ costs. Chava Eichner from Warwickshire, received one such grant – hosting a ‘Big Veggie Picnic’ at a local primary school. It went down a storm – she even made the Vegetarian Society’s very own paella for everyone.

Funding the future

Student entrepreneur Grant Lopo has big plans – his very own Caribbean restaurant. Because of a legacy left by a generous supporter, we could fund a place on the ‘Flavours of the Caribbean’ course at the Vegetarian Society Cookery School. It’s so great to see such passion for meat-free cooking from culinary rising stars.

The volunteer spirit

Local groups celebrate how great being vegetarian is. Our Leicester branch developed a ‘Veggie Guide to Leicester’, and linked up with the local tourist board to create a ‘Veggie Vacation’ holiday package.

We give vegetarians and vegans from all walks of life a louder, stronger, better-informed voice.
