Ecotricity is committed to building 500MW of new wind energy across the UK by 2010, for our customers. As a consequence, we're continually seeking new sites for wind development.

We offer farmers and landowners an additional and guaranteed source of income, which is compatible with conventional farming, by building wind turbines on their land. We build, own, operate and maintain the machines, and in return, all we require is a land lease for the lifetime of the project; typically 30 years. No financial investment on your part is required.

As a landlord your earnings are normally based on a percentage of the revenue generated by each turbine, i.e. the amount of electricity generated. This will vary depending on the wind resource and the number of wind turbines installed at your site.
