Phew … not a threat to national security after all!

park at lotus

Back in October 2007 South Norfolk Council refused our application to build a wind park at Group Lotus's headquarters in Hethel, Norfolk. The project was turned down on two issues - an objection from the MOD for a radar system they have based at RAF Trimingham on the coast, and impact on landscape.

Well, we're pleased to say that the MOD has withdrawn its objection stating that "the effect on radar performance at Trimingham is manageable". This u-turn comes months after their 11th hour objection sparked national front page debate... "Wind farms threat to national security" announced the Times and the Daily Mail.

We're looking at our options. The Council's Planning Officer was satisfied that the application meets all criteria - infact it was given a clean bill of health on all issues bar the MOD's concerns.

South Norfolk currently hosts the grand sum of Zero wind turbines. We are confident that our turbines at Lotus will be the first.
