The Body
Shop
In
2000 The Body Shop began its campaign for renewable energy
by joining Ecotricity. Its founder, Anita Roddick, issued
a challenge to Britain's highstreet retailers to switch to
Ecotricity in a bid to combat climate change saying, "Not
only does using Ecotricity significantly reduce our carbon
emissions, it also makes good business sense. I challenge
other highstreet retailers to follow our lead - there is no
good reason why they cannot."
The Body Shop UK Managing Director Peter Ridler, says, "The
Body Shop is committed to supporting renewable energy. We
hope our partnership with Ecotricity will inspire our customers
to make the switch and contribute towards helping protect
our planet."
