How will you keep cool this summer? Air conditioning, electric fans, ice-cold drinks from the fridge? Whatever you choose it is likely to involve electric power. The electricity we use in our homes is the biggest contributor to global warming. That makes us all responsible but now we can do something to help the world cool down.
Ecotricity, the UK's first green electricity supplier, has teamed up with The Body Shop to give customers the chance to make the coolest choice in electricity supply and join their campaign to convert one million homes to clean electricity by 2010.
All you have to do is look for the 'Global Cooling' penguin leaflets in one of The Body Shop's 300 plus stores, fill in the form and leave it in the special in-store post boxes or send it freepost to Ecotricity to get an information pack on how to switch supply.
Dale Vince, managing director of Ecotricity comments, "Switching to Ecotricity is an easy and affordable step that everyone can make to improve the environment. We match the prices of your local electricity supplier so Ecotricity shouldn't cost more than 'normal' electricity. We are dedicated to building more new clean energy sources, so every pound spent with us is an investment in re-shaping the way energy is produced now and in the future. "
The Body Shop UK Managing Director Peter Ridler, says, "The Body Shop is committed to supporting renewable energy. We hope our partnership with Ecotricity will inspire our customers to make the switch and contribute towards helping protect our planet."
