Shooters Bottom, Somerset

The first windmill in Somerset. In June 2008, Somerset joined the fight to create a greener Britain with this stunning windmill which powers over 1,000 homes with green energy.

Although it look four years to be given the go-ahead, since it’s been up, we’ve been inundated with emails and calls from local people who love how it looks and how it supplies their homes with 100% green electricity from the wind.

5 million kWh a year of green electricity in fact, allowing us to save over 1,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
