Ecotricity to bring flower power to Chalfest

22 June 2018

Ecotricity will bring flower power to Chalfest this summer by planting bird and bee friendly sunflowers with children for them to take home and grow.

The green energy company is the headline sponsor of the Village Green area and will give away the flowers as part of the launch of Ecotalk – a new green mobile phone network from Ecotricity which aims to ‘put the bee back in Britain’ by harnessing customer bills to buy land and giving land back to nature.

Ecotricity will bring their sustainability message to the area in unique ways, with a host of interactive, family-friendly activities, including face painting by Phoebe.

It will also be running a competition at the festival to win an Ecotricity hamper full of green goodies, with the winner announced after the festival.

Ecotricity has been able to get its hands on a family ticket to the sold out event and will be running a social media competition in early July to give it away, so keep an eye on the company’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stand a chance of winning.

Will Guyatt, head of communications at Ecotricity, said: “We love Chalfest – it’s a great festival with some big names and plenty of fun to enjoy right on our doorstep. Many know about Ecotricity thanks to our presence in Stroud, but this is the perfect place to find out more about our mission.”

Packed to the rafters with over 40 acts playing across five stages, Chalfest is one of the biggest one day festivals in the south west. This year some of the big names performing include Basement Jaxx, The Proclaimers and even Dick & Dom.

Chalfest will showcase community talents at the Village Green, including the Chalford Brass Band, Morris dancing, arts and crafts workshops, local musical and dance troupes and a range of market stalls.
