Your annual statement explained

Your annual statement – it’s a year in the life of your energy usage. We’ll send you one of these once a year so that you can keep track of how much energy you’ve used over the last twelve months and how much you’ve paid.

The statement isn’t a bill - you don’t need to do anything when you receive it - but it will give you a useful overview of your account with us, including a summary of the units you’ve used.

1. Tariff information label

You can find all the important information about your tariff here, including current prices. We also show your annual consumption, based on your consumption history, which helps to calculate your personal projection (see section 4).

2. Useful contacts

Here are the contact details for organisations that can help you reduce costs through energy saving, give you impartial advice on switching or make sure you are aware of your rights.

3. Average daily consumption

This graph shows your average daily consumption in kilowatt hours (kWh) for the period of this annual statement – see point 1. If we have supplied you for two or more years we will show last year’s average daily consumption as well.

4. Could you pay less?

Using your personal projection, we calculate if you would be better off on any of our other ‘tariffs’. We only really have one tariff but if you have an Economy 7 (E7) electricity meter you might be better off on the standard ’tariff’, depending on how much and when you use electricity.

If you are on Economy 7 and we think you could be better off on standard we will also estimate how much you could save. Remember, this is based on historic information only so if your circumstances change, this may not be the case. Give us a call on 0345 555 7 200 and we’ll discuss your options.

Ofgem say we must remind you on your bill that you can switch to a different supplier – but if you’re thinking about doing this, please get in touch so we can discuss why you are thinking of leaving.

5. Personal projection

We calculate this based on the most accurate historical consumption we hold and our current prices. This may be different to what you have paid over the past year (see point 2) depending on the amount of estimation on your account. 6. Your electricity or gas usage summary

We have looked back at the bills we have sent you for this statement period and added up the consumption and the cost. The accuracy of these amounts depends on whether we billed you to actual meter reads. Also, even if you were always billed to actual reads, if your bills did not cover this period exactly, we will have estimated some of this information.

7. Statement period

This shows whether this statement relates to electricity or gas and the period that this relates to. We will send you a statement for each property and fuel type we supply annually, once we have billed for at least a year since your last statement.
