North Dover, Kent

In the hands of the Inspectorate

We have submitted a planning application to construct five turbines between Pineham and East Langdon, North Dover.

These turbines will generate enough green energy to power an estimated 9,000 homes, saving of the annual emission of nearly 30,000 tonnes of carbon.

We use the best wind turbine technology. Our machines have no gearbox and operate at different speeds according to the prevailing windspeed. These features make for quieter, more productive and more aesthetic projects.

The appeal is scheduled to start on Janaury 7th. Our site is one of the few in the North Dover district that is actually suitable for wind turbines. We’re confident that when the inspector looks at the facts the site will stand on its own merits.

North Dover Council had ample time to make a decision on this application, but refused to do so. They we're well outside of the statutory timeframe for doing so. We decided it would be better to refer the matter to a higher authority as NDC clearly had problems coming to terms with it. In our opinion NDC prevaricated because they preferred this decision to be made on appeal, which is an abdication of their responsibility.

We chose not to attend NDC's recent meeting. We felt that a six or seven hour drive in order to speak for three minutes on an issue that had already been decided - was not just a waste of time, but pollution for no good reason. We are looking forward to this application receiving a fair hearing from a more competent body. That's what appeals are for.
