In August 2003 we mailed leaflets to over 100,000 households in Breckland and surrounding districts asking residents to vote Yes or No to local wind turbines.

Here's what some of them told us...

Mr & Mrs Warren - Swaffham
"We have a good view of the turbine from our window. We love it, much better than near a nuclear station and greener!"

Mr Smart - Thetford
"This technology is being introduced far too slowly. It should be in place now."

Mr Stannard - Kings Lynn
"We must keep building new wind turbines, the best way forward."

Mrs Davidson - Kings Lynn
"Very good idea. Save our planet for our grandchildren, thanks."

Mr Brighton - Stowbridge
"Should be one in every village, superb way of making green power."

Mr Paul - Attleborough
"Wind energy is clean energy, the more the better."

Mr Sawyer - Caston
"Excellent idea. They must be the way forward. Go for it!"

Mr Sweeney - Swaffham
"Wind turbines are attractive, clean and quiet. Good for the environment and Global Cooling"

Mr Coleridge - Fakenham
"I greatly admire the Swaffham wind turbines. The method makes great sense. I only wonder how many would be needed for a town like Fakenham."

Ms Hind - Thetford
"We are behind you 100% fed up with hypocrites who want alternative energy but not in their back yard!"
