This map shows the position that the original photographs were taken in order to create our computer generated photomontages of the proposed site.

Just click on one of the viewpoint numbers to see how the proposed wind turbines will look from that position.

Why aren't all viewpoints on the map?

This map does not display all the photomontages produced for this project as some of the view points are located too close together to be displayed or they originate from a distance away from the site that is not displayed at this scale. Although not all of the view points are displayed on the map they are all available in the slide show. Please see below for a list of Viewpoints not visible on the map.

Why resolution is lost in web viewpoints

These photomontages are produced as part of the planning application for this project as part of the Environmental Statement. To allow as many interested parties to view these photomontages as possible these are made available via our project web pages. As a result some of the resolution quality of these images is lost due to this transfer to the web. If you require the complete versions of these photomontages these are available in the full Environmental Statement. How photomontages are created

The photomontages are taken from the numbered points on the map facing the direction of the proposed scheme, which have been chosen by the Local Authority. They are created using a computer package which simulates what the turbines will look like in the landscape from certain viewpoints and places them into the photo.

What am I looking at?

The top photo is the actual photo of the landscape as it currently stands. The bottom photo is the same image with the turbines inserted to show how they will impact on the landscape. If the turbines cannot be seen due to distance or existing screening (such as trees) their positioning is still shown on the photomontage by a horizontal line.
