It's understandable to have concerns over a wind turbine
or wind farm situated close to where you live.
Research shows that a consistent majority of people –
often 70 to 90% - say they support wind power both in
principle and in practice, locally and nationally.
Many fears about wind developments tend to subside
after the rotor blades start turning, as people's views are
shaped by their actual experiences rather than any
preconceptions they may have had.
Most concerns are dealt with directly through extensive
environmental assessments that are carried
out on each site. Nonetheless, it is important to clarify
people's concerns directly as well.
