Climate Change

Climate change is now widely acknowledged as the greatest environmental threat facing the world today.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is the major contributor to greenhouse gases and nearly 30% of CO2 emissions in the UK are generated by the electricity industry.

Scientists predict that if no action is taken, the world's average surface temperatures will increase from 1.4 - 5.8°C by the year 2100. Globally, temperatures have risen by 0.6°C in the past century.

A rise by ten times that amount this century would potentially be catastrophic to the planet and human society.
