Witherdon Wood, Devon

Harnessing the great winds of Devon...

The Devon winds are not just beneficial to windsurfers, they also have great potential to generate green electricity.

We have already started construction of our four wind turbines at Galsworthy Farm near Great Torrington, and now the team are assessing the potential of a single medium sized turbine at Witherdon Wood in Ashwater, Devon.

Although just a single turbine, 55 metres to the hub and 84 metres to the very tip of the highest blade, it would generate about 2.20 million units of electricity every year, which is the equivalent of about 529 homes powered through clean, renewable energy.

We think it’s a great site for a single but significant wind turbine. We’ll keep you up-to-date on the application and all the details of proposed site here.
