The Soil Association is encouraging organic consumers and businesses to switch to windpower, through a partnership with Ecotricity.
Ecotricity - the world's first green electricity company and a leading British wind energy developer - will donate £10 to the Soil Association for each new customer who signs up as a result of the partnership.
"This partnership benefits everybody - we reduce the emissions that cause climate change; and organic consumers who care about the environment can power their homes in an eco-friendly way," says Dale Vince, Managing Director, Ecotricity.
The Soil Association - the UK's largest certifier and promoter of organic food - is encouraging its supporters and licensees to switch to Ecotricity , made from sources that don't pollute and won't run out.
In addition, members of the Soil Association's Organic Farms Network - 35 farms around the UK that are open to members of the public - will have the opportunity to diversify into wind farming. To achieve its mission of environmental improvement, Ecotricity is dedicated to building new wind turbines to provide clean electricity for its customers. And it doesn't cost any more than conventional electricity from local suppliers.
"We are delighted to team up with Ecotricity and hope that more of our supporters will switch to green energy," says Martin Cottingham, the Soil Association's Marketing Director.
