Organic Power

partnership with the Soil Association

The Soil Association is encouraging its producers and processors to switch to Ecotricity, which is made from 'organic' sources like the wind, that don't pollute and won't run out. Cleaning up the production and packaging process in this way is completing the organic cycle and creating products that are environmentally friendlier in every respect.

Members of the Soil Association will be among the first people to be able to power their homes from Ecotricity. It won't cost them anymore than conventional electricity from their local supplier and they'll be helping to create new clean sources of electricity, now and for the future.

Reducing the threat of climate change is a major area of focus for the partnership, particularly building new clean sources of electricity, such as wind energy, to replace polluting conventional sources. Ecotricity is the only electricity company committed to building significant new green energy and The Soil Association plans to promote Wind Farming diversification to the members of its Organic Farms Network.

"This partnership benefits everybody - we reduce the emissions that cause climate change; consumers can power their homes and buy organic products, all made using Ecotricity; and farmers can add organic electricity to their range of crops," says Dale Vince, Managing Director of Ecotricity.

"We are delighted to team up with Ecotricity and hope that more of our supporters will switch to green energy as we have," says Martin Cottingham, the Soil Association's Marketing Director.
