Lincolnshire's first wind park goes live

At 11am this morning Lincolnshire's first wind park started generating ecotricity. The two state of the art wind turbines will provide electricity for over 1,100 homes, nearly half of all the households in the nearby town of Mablethorpe.

Built by pioneering wind energy developer Ecotricity - the country's first green electricity company - the wind park will prevent the emission of over 3,000 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide every year.

The turbines, made by Enercon, demonstrate the most efficient and quiet wind technology in the world, and Ecotricity encourage local people to visit the site and see what they think,

"I'm sure that the people of Lincolnshire will love the park. We will now begin to supply local homes with Ecotricity made from local wind turbines," Dale Vince, Managing Director.

People interested in powering their homes with Ecotricity can call Freephone 0800 169 6688 or take a look at the website on www.ecotricity.co.uk to find out more.
