Clean water advocate, Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) has switched to Ecotricity, the world's first green electricity company. Ecotricity is committed to creating new cleaner renewable sources of electricity, like wind power, to replace conventional polluting energy. By switching, SAS is helping to clean up the environment and reduce the emissions that are causing climate change.
Surfers Against Sewage is a UK-based non-profit organisation campaigning for an end to the discharge of raw and partially treated sewage and toxic waste into the sea and inland waters. Since 1990, SAS has campaigned to clean up the rivers and coastal waters of the United Kingdom.
Vicky Garner, Campaign Director for SAS comments, "Just by going about our daily lives we all impact on the planet. Powering our office with green electricity is one way for SAS to minimise our impact. Ecotricity has provided us with an affordable package that makes economic as well as environmental sense and we are delighted to be making this move."
Dale Vince, managing director of Ecotricity says, "I admire the work SAS do in lobbying for cleaner rivers and beaches, and I'm happy that we're helping them to reduce their own environmental impact by replacing polluting electricity sources with clean renewable energy."
