Windpower for Lincolnshire

Photomontage of how the project will look (including the existing 2 wind turbines) Ecotricity has started work on Lincolnshire's second wind park and the company's biggest project to date. Eight additional wind turbines will be built this summer near Ecotricity's existing two turbines at Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire.

The Enercon E40 wind turbines, with a combined capacity of 4.8MW, will be built at Bambers Farm, Mile Lane and will produce over 13 million units of electricity each year - enough to power over 4,000 local homes. When the eight new wind turbines are operational, Mablethorpe will provide enough wind-generated electricity to power 10% of homes in the district and stop the emissions of over 11,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year.

Planning approval for the project was given earlier this year on appeal.
