South Australian Shadow Energy Minister to visit Swaffham turbines

Wayne Matthew at Swaffham ll wind turbineEcotricity's famous wind turbines at Swaffham hosted a visit from Wayne Matthew, the South Australian Shadow Energy Minister, today Friday August 29th 2003. Mr Matthew is visiting the UK on a fact-finding tour on renewable energy and then goes on to Europe to attend a conference on hydrogen power.

Wayne Matthew and his wife Penny enjoy the view from the top of Swaffham lMr Matthew visited Swaffham's first turbine at the EcoTech Centre when he was South Australia's Energy Minister back in 2000. He is now returning to the town to see the UK's tallest wind turbine and Ecotricity's latest source of renewable energy.

Mr Matthew said, "South Australia is looking into developing its own sources of wind power and I am really keen to learn from the UK's experience. Diversification of the energy mix is going to be crucial in meeting the challenge of climate change and future energy needs."
