Ecotricity to unveil proposals for turbine at Prudential's business park

The UK's leading green electricity supplier Ecotricity, is inviting the public to come and see proposals for a new wind turbine at the GreenPark business park, near Reading, during a special Open Day at Grazeley Village Hall, 10am-8pm on Friday, October 3rd.

Ecotricity is about to submit a planning application to Wokingham District Council to build a 2 megawatt turbine at the site, near Junction 11 of the M4 motorway, and is keen to get local peoples' views on the development.

Photomontage of the proposed project Dale Vince, Ecotricity's Managing Director, says, "This Open Day is an opportunity to involve local people in our plans and discuss any issues they may have. We'd encourage anyone with an interest to come and visit us. If we get the go ahead it will mean that people can power their homes and businesses with locally generated, clean electricity."

The exhibition will show plans and photomontages of what the turbine will look like and members of staff will be on hand to answer questions. The proposed turbine will stand 85m high and generate enough electricity to power 1,205 homes, save over 3,400 tonnes of carbon dioxide and 40 tonnes of sulphur dioxide emissions.

Prudential, the landowners of the GreenPark site, are excited at the prospect of this wind turbine development. Kevin Ashman, Prudential's Director of Project Management, says, "GreenPark is demonstrating a willingness to pursue energy efficient proposals along with other innovative measures and very contemporary designs."
