The wind park will generate enough green electricity for over 4,000 local homes - 8% of the East Lindsey district - as well as prevent the emission of nearly 12,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year.

Dale Vince, managing director of Ecotricity comments, "This is a great opportunity to harness clean, safe and local energy for the benefit of local people. Climate change is the biggest threat this country has to deal with. Converting to wind energy and preventing carbon dioxide emission is crucial in the fight against climate change. We are the only UK company dedicated to greening up the country in order to create sustainable energy now and for the future. The wind park at Bambers Farm will make a significant contribution to the county's renewable energy targets."

A great deal of planning, expertise and consulting has gone into the project in order that the planning application for the wind park fully complies with relevant planning and environmental impact assessment legislation. Ecotricity will also be providing 35 copies of all the reports to the councils to enable them to consult with a host of agencies and organisations, including the local parish councils and their constituents. In addition, Ecotricity also held a number of 'Open Days' to consult with local people about the project in December.

Apart from the obvious advantages of receiving clean green electricity, the local community also benefits from 20% of the overall capital costs for the project - an estimated £500,000 - through taking on local contractors and suppliers for a majority of the building work including access roads and turbine foundations.
