ABSEIL-UTELY AMAZING AMOUNT!
5 June 2003
The first brave soul down on the day, was cancer survivor, Mr Martin
Alderton from Hingham. His family watched from the base as he fearlessly
zipped down the turbine. A fantastic sum of £31,000 was made on the day. Helen Wood, events organiser for Cancer Research UK remarks, "The event was such a huge success for the charity and special thanks must go to Ecotricity for allowing us to run the event at the turbine." Mr Dale Vince, Managing Director of Ecotricity also took part in the event. "We are delighted that our dedication to building new sources of green energy has directly helped Cancer Research to raise vital funds. The event was a great success and has helped to increase awareness for both organisations." Cancer Research UK would like to thank all those that took part and supported the event.
