DAREDEVILS NEEDED TO DANGLE 220FT !!

March 10, 2003

Are you brave enough to join Cancer Research UK on the 31st May and abseil down the Ecotricity wind turbine in Swaffham, Norfolk and help raise much needed funds?

More daredevils are needed by Cancer Research UK to join those already signed up for this exhilarating and challenging event. The task begins at the base of the turbine, as you have to climb a staggering 300 steps to the hub. Once you catch your breath, you will then make your descent of an amazing 220ft - one of the highest abseils that Cancer Research UK have attempted.

Participants will be in the capable hands of fully qualified experienced instructors so no prior experience is needed - just a little bit of daring.

Helen Wood, Event Organiser from Cancer Research UK, says "This is such an exciting event that gives people the opportunity to do something different and a little daring and raise money for such a vital cause.

We hope to raise £20,000 to research cures for cancer but we need your help to do it! So why not join us and enjoy the thrill of a lifetime, an adrenaline rush is guaranteed."

Dale Vince, managing director of Ecotricity comments, "We're pleased to be able to help out with this event in aid of Cancer Research and I am sure there will be a few Ecotricity staff taking part in the abseil including myself."
