Join Renewable Rewards to maximise the benefits of your home generation

Renewable Rewards is a scheme designed to help support customers reduce their carbon footprint. Customers with Solar PV, small wind turbines, or small hydro power schemes under 10KW capacity can receive benefits for their generation.

How does Renewable Rewards Work?

Ecotricity will pay you 12p for every unit (kWh) of electricity you generate (Price effective 1st February 2009). In return, you supply Ecotricity with the ROCs awarded to you by Ofgem on an annual basis.

What do I need to get started?

• You need to be an Ecotricity customer. If you’re not already a customer you can switch in five minutes online.


• You will need Ofgem accreditation - don’t panic because we can prepare this on your behalf, all you need is an Ofgem approved meter


• You will need to obtain the agreement of your local distribution company in order to connect your renewable generator to the local grid. Your generation equipment installer, or supplier, should be able to help you with this.

I'm ready, how do I register?

• You can sign up online using either our online application form or our paper version (PDF, 372kb)


• Then read and sign our terms and conditions contract (PDF, 370kb)


• Post your completed paperwork back to us with an electrical schematic diagram and you’re ready to go.
